♥First Week
Hi, everyone!
Let me introduce
myself. My name is Rosy Radika. I am as the representative from University of
Lampung for SEA Teacher Batch V that placed in West Visayas State University.
I’m very glad to join
this program because I can feel different atmospehere for teaching pupils and
making different lesson plan. Also I got lot of experience during here.
Ok,
I want to introduce West Visayas State University as my first week report from this nice program! :)
West Visayas State
University (informally referred to as West or WVSU) is a public normal research
university (a university system) located in Western Visayas region of the Philippines with its main campus in La Paz, Iloilo City.
Vision of the College of
Education:
The College of Education shall maintain its reputation as
the "Center of Excellence for Teacher Education" in the country,
specifically in the areas of elementary, secondary, special, early childhood,
adult and community education. It shall provide leadership in instruction,
research, and extension among teacher education institutions in the country.
Mission of the College of
Education:
To produce graduates in tertiary and advanced education
who are dynamic, world-class and globally-competitive; possess socially
acceptable values, attitudes and skills; and practice the ethics for service
and for the profession.
Goals of the College of
Education:
1. To
provide instruction through a responsive and relevant curriculum in the
undergraduate and graduate degrees/certificate programs that will produce
effective administrators and mentors in educational learning institutions and
agencies
2. To
initiate and utilize state-of-the-art research for regional and national
development.
3. To develop and use the best educational practices to
maintain the culture of Excellence for teacher education
First time me and 3 of my friends
who joined SEA Teacher entered the campus of West Visayas State University when the campus held an event named University Week 2018. We’re
wearing our traditional costume and the President of West Visayas State
University call us one by one to say hello in front of them.
Im so glad when the President introducing us infront of the student in West Visayas State University. All students and also the teachers very welcome us as the visitors in their campus.
After that, the Dean of College of Education brought us to her office and introducing me to my buddies. Im so lucky to have them by my side during this program. They are really kind and always help me whenever and wherever I am.
On the first week, exactly the fourth day here, me and my buddies had a chance to observe ilo-ilo elementary school. I met one teacher in that school which is could speak in bahasa. I really excited to talk with her. I asked her lot of question about the curiculum in that school and the way she teach the pupils.
Very nice school with the pupils that always give the visitors nice smile.
I always interest if talking abot children. I found many things that I never know before I observe in this school. From this school, I know that all the pupils here (in kindergarten), they speak with mother tongue and some of them can understand people who speak in english. Very good!
Moreover on the next day, Maam Rose Robles as our-second-Mom here (hehe) bring us to the Capitol Office. We talk a lot with the City Major. Im so glad to met him there. He asked us a little bit of our culture and education system in Indonesia. Luckily, the City Major gave us free ticket to watched "Dinagyang Festival". Me and my friends was very happy because of that ticket, I can see the attraction of the participant who joined the Dinagyang Festival closer.
I never imagine before I went there, if I could met the City Major. He is very kind person and also humble.
I really enjoy the performance of Dinagyang Festival. They are really creative.
After a whole day I took a rest because of the Dinagyang Festival on the first week, I started my day to preparing my self to enter (again) the campus. Met the pupils in Integrated Laboratory School in West Visayas State University. My buddies bring me to the kindergarten in Intgrated Laboratory School in West Visayas State University. I'm a bit shocked because there are 49 pupils in one class. As my experience observing kindergarten in Indonesia, there are only less than 20 pupils in one class. It's ok! I told myself I can handle it ^.^
The pupils here placed on 5 different table. I know that it is a strategic from the teachers so that the teachers can easily handle the pupils.
In my second week, I also did my first demo! Yeay! But I have to make my own lesson plan. I got something new here. There's always an IM (Instructional Material) everyday, every student teachers or the teachers did their demo.

♥Second Week
Back again with me Rosy on SEA Teacher Program! :)After a whole day I took a rest because of the Dinagyang Festival on the first week, I started my day to preparing my self to enter (again) the campus. After did the demo teaching, on the second week my lovely mentor, Ma'am Angie Germinal brought us to her hometown in Tigbauan. Her house is quite beautiful. She brought us to roaming around her place. I visited Garinfarm, SEADEC, and also eat in Japanese Restaurant and Korean Restaurant.
♥Third Week
Holaaaaa!!!Third week is begin! I'm so sad because I only have less than 2 weeks again to stay here. But it's ok. I'll work so hard so that I can visit this city again in the future.
Still. And always complete my day to make the lesson plan and thinking about the IM or Instructional Material.
On weekend of the third week, again and again my lovely Ma'am Pinky (The Dean of College Education) bring us to Guimaras Island. All people in Philippines called that island with "Heaven of Mangoes" (my buddy told me). True. I already tasted the mangoes in Guimaras. That's really sweet. Ma'am Pinky also bring us to the restaurant in that Island.
♥Fourth Week
Welcoming the fourth week on this program, I did something as usual, assist the other student teachers did their demo. It's nice to assist them and take hand to control the class. Actually on the fourth week on this program, the Dean of College of Education here asked us to finish our portfolio. And there's no demo teaching again. But I always came to Kindergarten to watch the pupils.The last day of the week, all the student teachers, pupils, and also teachers in Kindergarten make a simple celebration for me. I cried a lot there. Im so sad. Actaully I wanna stay longer there, with them :(
All pupils gave me one letter, and the total of the letter are 49 letters. I read it one by one, and I cried while I read the letter :(
The student teachers and also the teachers also give me a gift. I'm speechless. I cried a lot. Everyone hug and kiss me.......
Thank you SEA Teacher for ensuring me that I'm not a sad story. I got all amazing memories here. To be honest, I'm still trying to hold back my tears and I'm still feeling dead inside. I never forget this moment untill I die. All my pupils, the staffs, all the student teachers, all the people that I met here, are my favorite hello, and my hardest goodbye! :")
